On the Solution of Some Inverse Problems in Porous Media Flow

چکیده
In this paper we discuss the numerical modelling of two inverse problems in porous media flow. In the first problem, we determine the soil parameters that occur in the retention and hydraulic permeability curves of the Van Genuchten ansatz for Richard’s equation. In the second problem we determine the hydraulic permeability, longitudinal dispersivity and adsorption isotherms using the measurements in a single injection-extraction well.

A Hybridized Crouziex-Raviart Nonconforming Finite Element and Discontinuous Galerkin Method for a Two-Phase Flow in the Porous Media
In this study, we present a numerical solution for the two-phase incompressible flow in the porous media under isothermal condition using a hybrid of the linear lower-order nonconforming finite element and the interior penalty discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method. This hybridization is developed for the first time in the two-phase modeling and considered as the main novelty of this research. The p...
متن کاملExperimental Investigation of the Permeability and Inertial Effect on Fluid Flow through Homogeneous Porous Media
The value of the permeability in fluid flow through porous media is important for process investigation. In low Reynolds number, the classic Darcy’s law is suitable for simulation of fluid flow. In this paper, an experimental study for evaluation of preformed fiber permeability has been done. Also, the deviations from the classical Darcy law by experimental and numerical simulation of the N...
متن کاملLattice Gas Automata Simulation of Adsorption Process of Polymer in Porous Media
Lattice gas automata (LGA) model is developed to simulate polymer adsorption process by adding some collision rules. The simulation result of the model is matched with batch experiment and compared with accepted isothermal adsorption equations. They show that the model is viable to perform simulation of the polymer adsorption process. The LGA model is then applied for simulating continuous poly...

In this paper, we discuss some applications of multiscale finite element methods to two-phase immiscible flow simulations in heterogeneous porous media. We discuss some extensions of multiscale finite element methods which take into account some limited global information. These methods are well suited for channelized porous media, where the long-range effects are important. This is typical for...
